Bright is popular for travellers wanting to access the ski resorts of Mount Hotham and Falls Creek in the winter months and outdoor types who love hiking and biking in the summer months.  There are a few caravan parks in Bright, Northern Victoria, some located in town some located on the outskirts of town but one that has it all is the Discovery Park.

5 things we loved about Discovery Parks Bright

Discovery Parks Bright is located 10 kilometres from Bright in an area called Freeburgh, which sits in a stunning valley surrounded by breathtaking forests that cover the hills on each side. The Ovens River weaves its way through the landscape at the side of the park, you can even pitch your tent just next to the bank of the river.

The Location

As I just touched on, the location is fantastic for those that like peace and quiet and a touch of nature. You can sit out front of your cabin, van or tent and hear the Ovens River flowing past. The River is good for fishing, goldpanning, swimming and getting wet on warm days.

The chirping of birds is a pleasant way to wake up in the morning. You may even get some inquisitive birds hopping around your site.

Coffee at the Burgh

Discovery Parks Bright has its own coffee stand that is open on a weekend between 8-11 serving up some amazing Barista made coffee that will keep even the most ardent coffee snob happy.

Nothing is better than a latte, cappuccino or flat white to get you going before heading out and exploring the surrounding towns, rail trails of Bright or local wineries.

Kids facilities

All good holiday parks these days need a variety of kids facilities for visiting families. At Bright Discovery Park, you will find a swimming pool, half-court basketball and tennis court, playground and a giant jumping pillow.

Deck chairs surround the pool, so parents can get comfortable while monitoring their kids in the pool. At the front office, there is a games room for kids to use and play video games, just quietly. Maybe even the parents will enjoy this!
